Welcome to the thirteenth week of the 2026–2027 academic year at Samuel V. Champion High School!
“THE CAPACITY TO LEARN IS A GIFT; THE ABILITY TO LEARN IS A SKILL; THE WILLINGNESS TO LEARN IS A CHOICE.” - BRIAN HERBERT
As we enter into the winter season and the holidays are just around the corner, we are looking at a mere 6 weeks of instruction and learning left for our students and teachers in the classroom setting for 2026. This is exciting and scary at the same time. Teachers want more time to dive deeper into their curriculum and more time to reach the very heart of the engagement with students. It is so important to seize every opportunity to master their current learning objectives and units of study. Students are eager to have the time to be kids, to enjoy time off with their families. Both are equally important to both students and teachers, please do not think for a moment they are not, but in the day to day excitement at Champion, you can feel it in the halls. Opportunity is always there for us. Opportunity to make an IMPACT.
These next few weeks, lets all help each other be the best we can be and seize every moment to master the lesson, enjoy the moment of playoffs, new beginnings with basketball starting and swim, dive into our Theater program and see the growth of our students, step into robotics or any club on campus and see the impact they all make. I challenge you to do just that.

What is The Champion Way?
During the 2014 Inaugural Year of CHS, the founding group of parents, students, and educators identified the following character traits as our school’s core values: trustworthiness, perseverance, adaptability, compassion, initiative, loyalty, courage, honesty, optimism, respect, contemplation and responsibility. Quarterly, each school year, we recognize a group of students who exemplify the characteristics of the Champion Way. CONGRATULATIONS to these students for being selected as a Champion Way award recipient!
