About Champion High School

Samuel V. Champion High School, home of the Chargers, opened its doors in 2008 and has grown into a vibrant 9–12 campus dedicated to helping every student discover their strengths, pursue excellence, and become a champion in their own right. The school emphasizes academic challenge, character, service and preparation for a rapidly-changing world.

Champion High School is named in honor of Samuel V. “Sam” Champion, a beloved Boerne educator and community leader. A graduate of Boerne High School himself, Champion went on to serve as a teacher, coach, and longtime principal, dedicating his career to Boerne students. His legacy of leadership, service and commitment to education lives on through the school that bears his name.
