Cyber Security P-TECH Academy
ABOUT US
Located on the Boerne-Champion High School campus, the Cyber Security P-TECH Academy opened its doors August 2022.
This flagship P-TECH is an innovative program open to all students interested in cyber security and who reside in the Boerne ISD attendance zone. Students in this program will have an opportunity to earn industry-based certifications, a level one certificate, and an associates degree by the time they graduate high school.
By completing two years of college for free through a P-TECH program, student could save between $6,000 to $14,000 in tuition!
WHAT IS A P-TECH?
Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH) are an innovative, open-enrollment high school that focus on a high demand, high wage profession needed in the regional area. These programs of study allow students an opportunity to receive both a high school diploma and a credential and/or an associate degree. The hallmark of the P-TECH model is its career focus and the provision of work-based education.
P-TECH Highlights:
- Provide students entering the 9th and 10th grade the opportunity to complete a course of study that combines high school and post-secondary courses.
- Enable students to earn a high school diploma, along with an associate degree, Level 1 certificate and/or industry-based certification.
- Offers age-appropriate work-based learning opportunities at every grade level.
- Allow students to gain work experience through an internship, apprenticeship, or other job training program.
- Align to regional workforce needs, guiding students into high-demand, high-wage careers.
- Partner with local colleges and regional businesses and industries, giving students access to post-secondary education and workforce training opportunities.
